Colten Ellis to Start Saturday for Sabres Against Red Wings

Colten Ellis (Buffalo Sabres), a 25-year-old goaltender, will make his third NHL start on Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings. Ellis was claimed off waivers by the Sabres in October 2025 after signing a two-year, two-way contract extension with the Blues in March 2025. In his first two NHL appearances, he holds a 1-1-0 record, having allowed six goals on 67 shots, resulting in a 3.05 GAA and a .910 SV%. He faces a Red Wings team that has recently cooled off, securing only two wins in their last six games and scoring a modest 12 goals during that span.
