Tyler Bertuzzi Out Saturday with Undisclosed Injury; Reflects on Blackhawks Contract and Bounce-Back Season

Tyler Bertuzzi (Chicago Blackhawks) is not expected to play against Toronto on Saturday due to an undisclosed injury. This comes after a solid bounce-back 2023-24 campaign with the Maple Leafs, where he tallied 21 goals and 22 assists, including six power-play points, in 80 regular-season games. Despite a quiet postseason, he secured a four-year, $22 million deal with Chicago in the offseason, his longest professional contract. Bertuzzi, who will partner with Connor Bedard in 2024-25, has historically battled injuries but showcased 30-goal potential in 2021-22 with 30 goals and 62 points in 68 games for Detroit, demonstrating his ability to be a point-per-game player when healthy.
