Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen Benched for Thursday's Game Despite Previous Reports

Goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, 26, will not start in Thursday's road game against Colorado, contrary to earlier reports. Alex Lyon is now expected to get the nod for the Buffalo Sabres. Luukkonen, who signed a five-year, $23.75 million contract with the Sabres in July 2024, has a 1-1-1 record with a 2.90 GAA and an .877 save percentage in three appearances this season.
