Logan Thompson to Start in Goal Against Florida Panthers
Logan Thompson will start in goal for the Washington Capitals against the Florida Panthers on Thursday. The 28-year-old goalie has been outstanding this season, holding a 7-4-0 record with a 1.56 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage. Thompson recently allowed more than two goals for the first time when the Lightning scored three in a 3-2 victory. He signed a six-year, $35.1 million contract with the Capitals in January 2025. The Panthers, his opponents, have struggled this season after winning back-to-back Stanley Cups, ranking 28th in the NHL with 42 goals in 16 games.
