Simon Nemec Scores First Career Hat Trick, Leads Devils to Overtime Victory
Simon Nemec recorded his first career hat trick, including the overtime winner, to lead the New Jersey Devils to a 4-3 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. Nemec, who admitted he's never been a "shooter or a scoring guy," found the net three times, showcasing his ability to find forward positioning and finish. Jacob Markstrom made 17 saves on 20 shots and even picked up an assist on Nemec's game-winner. The Devils faced adversity early, losing forwards Cody Glass and Zack MacEwen to apparent injuries during the first period. Despite being down to 10 forwards, New Jersey tied the game twice before Nemec sealed the win. This performance marks the first time in Nemec's career that he has scored in back-to-back games.
