Artur Akhtyamov Called Up by Maple Leafs Amidst Goaltending Shortage

The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled goaltender Artur Akhtyamov from the Toronto Marlies due to unavailability of their top two netminders. Starting goaltender Anthony Stolarz sustained a lower-body injury during a recent game against the Boston Bruins, and Joseph Woll is currently on a conditioning stint with the Marlies. This situation leads to Dennis Hildeby likely making his fourth consecutive NHL start. Akhtyamov has a 4-2-0 record with an .894 save percentage in six games for the Marlies this season. The team also placed forward Scott Laughton on injured reserve retroactive to November 8th.
