Senators Defenseman Thomas Chabot Suffers Upper-Body Injury Against Stars
Ottawa Senators defenseman Thomas Chabot sustained an upper-body injury during Tuesday night's game against the Dallas Stars at Canadian Tire Centre. The injury occurred near the end of the first period following a hard hit against the boards by Stars forward Colin Blackwell, with Chabot's lower back or left rib area appearing to take the impact. Although he came out for the second-period warm-up, Chabot was ultimately shut down for the night. While the severity is currently unknown, this injury highlights the Senators' limited organizational depth on the left side of their blue line. Chabot has recorded 10 points in 16 games this season, and his status is expected to be clarified soon, potentially tomorrow.
