Shayne Gostisbehere Returns to Hurricanes Blueline and Power Play After Midsection Injury

Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere is set to return to the lineup against the Washington Capitals after missing six games due to a midsection injury suffered against the Vegas Golden Knights. This follows an earlier three-game absence for a lower-body injury, limiting him to just six appearances this season. Gostisbehere, who has one goal and seven points, was seen practicing with Alexander Nikishin on the blueline and with the top power play unit. Coach Rod Brind'Amour emphasized Gostisbehere's importance given the team's injury woes, noting his high-level play and significant improvement away from the puck before his injury. Gostisbehere expressed gratitude for the opportunity to return, hoping to contribute immediately and acknowledging the strong performance of the team's rookie blueliners in his absence.
