Nate Danielson Impresses in Red Wings Debut, Shows Tenacity and Offensive Promise
Detroit Red Wings prospect Nate Danielson, 21, made his NHL debut on Sunday, playing on the third line with Marco Kasper and Mason Appleton. Despite not recording a point, Danielson showcased tenacity, logging 15:16 of ice time (11:46 even strength, 3:30 power play), four shots on net, and one takeaway. He struggled on faceoffs (2/10) but was effective defensively, with no goals scored against the Red Wings while he was on the ice, and he limited high-danger chances. Offensively, Danielson created opportunities, driving to the net, making heads-up plays, and actively working the puck on the power play. He demonstrated grit along the boards and recovered quickly from a fall into the boards, stripping the puck and re-entering the offensive zone. Danielson will aim for his first NHL point when the Red Wings host the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday.
