Brock Faber's Development with Wild Reviewed Following Fiala Trade Anniversary
Defenseman Brock Faber was traded to the Minnesota Wild on June 29, 2022, along with a 2022 first-round pick, in the deal that sent Kevin Fiala to the Los Angeles Kings. Faber has since developed into an excellent young defenseman in the NHL. He had a strong rookie campaign, finishing second in Calder Trophy voting after recording eight goals and 47 points in 82 games, following two regular-season and six playoff games the year prior. Last season, his production dipped to 29 points, though he scored a career-high 10 goals in 78 appearances. His responsibility significantly increased, averaging 25:32 of ice time, and he represented Team USA at the 4 Nations Face-off. Now in his third full season with the Wild, Faber has three goals and nine points in 16 games, seemingly on pace to match his rookie production.
