Akira Schmid Shines with Second Career Shutout, First as a Golden Knight

Akira Schmid delivered a stellar performance for the Vegas Golden Knights, recording his second career shutout and his first as a Golden Knight in Tuesday's 1-0 victory over the Detroit Red Wings. Schmid stopped all 24 shots he faced, including a highlight-reel save against Alex DeBrincat in the third period, to secure the win. This shutout, his first since 2023, improves his all-time record wearing a Vegas sweater to 8-1-1 and helped the Golden Knights move into a first-place tie in the Pacific Division.
