Red Wings' Patrick Kane Remains Out with Upper-Body Injury, Misses Entire Road Trip
Detroit Red Wings forward Patrick Kane will not join the team for the remainder of their five-game road trip, which concludes with games against the San Jose Sharks and Vegas Golden Knights. Kane has been sidelined since October 17, when he suffered an upper-body injury after sliding awkwardly into the boards during a 2-1 overtime victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Head coach Todd McLellan had initially designated him as day-to-day, and he has been able to skate. The team hopes he will be available when they return home to play the New York Rangers on November 7. Kane had been playing on the second line with Alex DeBrincat and Marco Kasper, maintaining a point-per-game pace with three goals and two assists in five appearances this season.
