Scott Wedgewood Continues Outstanding Play as Avalanche Extend Winning Streak

Colorado Avalanche goaltender Scott Wedgewood delivered another outstanding performance on October 19, 2025, stopping 13 of 14 shots in a composed and technically sound effort during a 4-1 victory over the Boston Bruins. His consistent play has been a revelation early in the season, contributing significantly to the Avalanche's three-game winning streak and their impressive 5-0-1 record. Despite his strong start, head coach Jared Bednar hinted that Wedgewood might receive a rest soon, potentially paving the way for backup Trent Miner's first start. Wedgewood's reliability has been a key factor in the team's improved defensive statistics, allowing only nine goals through six games.
