Rasmus Dahlin Involved in On-Ice Altercation Leading to Marchand's Fine
Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin was at the center of a contentious incident during Saturday's game against the Florida Panthers. Dahlin cross-checked Brad Marchand in the lower back, an action that went uncalled by the referees. Marchand retaliated aggressively, pursuing Dahlin, taking him to the ground, and throwing punches. Marchand was subsequently penalized for interference and roughing on Dahlin. Adding to the theatrics, Marchand also took Dahlin's helmet to the penalty box, ripped off its straps, and tossed it back onto the ice. Despite the physical exchange, the Sabres went on to defeat the Panthers 3-0, with Marchand's penalties contributing to a power-play goal for Buffalo.
