Evgeni Malkin Continues Hot Start, Climbs NHL All-Time Scoring List

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin is off to a scorching start in the 2025-26 season, compiling two goals and nine points in six games, including two assists in the season opener. He has been pointless in only one game and is driving offense on his line, showing strong chemistry with Anthony Mantha and Justin Brazeau. Malkin recently moved to No. 28 on the NHL's all-time scoring list, surpassing Brendan Shanahan with 1,355 career points, and is just 15 points shy of passing Johnny Bucyk for No. 27. This week, the Penguins face the Vancouver Canucks, Florida Panthers, and Columbus Blue Jackets, opponents against whom Malkin has historically performed well, with 30, 52, and 49 career points respectively.
