Philip Rivers Agrees to Become NC State Wolfpack Head Coach

Former NFL quarterback Philip Rivers has agreed to a deal to become the next head coach at NC State, returning to his alma mater where his No. 17 jersey is retired. Rivers played 17 seasons in the NFL and has coached at St. Michael Catholic High School in Alabama since 2021. He replaces Dave Doeren, who was fired in October. The move comes as Rivers' son, four-star 2027 quarterback recruit Gunner Rivers, is committed to join the Wolfpack program.
