Foster Griffin Traded to Guardians in Multi-Player Package Deal

Left-handed pitcher Foster Griffin was traded by the Washington Nationals to the Cleveland Guardians in August 2026. In exchange for half a season of Griffin, the Nationals received a four-player prospect package consisting of Will Dion, Josh Hartle, Kendeglys Virguez, and Nick Mitchell. While Griffin was sent to bolster Cleveland, the return package has already yielded strong results for Washington, highlighted by the rapid emergence of multi-inning reliever Will Dion.
