Scott Mayfield Scratched by Islanders Amid Trade Rumors

Scott Mayfield was a surprise healthy scratch for the New York Islanders in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Devils, replaced by Ben Hutton. Mayfield had been leading the team in 4-on-5 penalty kill ice time following Ryan Pulock's upper-body injury. The decision comes amid ongoing trade rumors and a looming roster crunch as key forward Mathew Barzal and Matias Maccelli approach return from injury.
