Giants Acquire Reliever Robert Cranz in Trade With Nationals

The San Francisco Giants acquired 23-year-old right-handed reliever Robert Cranz from the Washington Nationals in exchange for Reiver Sanmartin. A 2024 seventh-round draft pick out of Oklahoma State, Cranz posted a 2.25 ERA in High-A and a 3.42 ERA in Double-A during 2026 before struggling in Triple-A (13.11 ERA in 11.2 IP). Featuring a 95.2 mph four-seam fastball alongside a cutter and slider, Cranz provides bullpen depth for AAA Sacramento.
