Luis Gil Faces Uncertain Future With Yankees Non-Tender Deadline

The New York Yankees face a decision regarding right-hander Luis Gil ahead of the November 20th non-tender deadline. Following a 2024 AL Rookie of the Year campaign, Gil struggled with shoulder issues in 2026, posting a 4.61 ERA and 7.12 FIP over 27.1 MLB innings while walking 18 batters. Out of minor league options and projected for $2.3 million in arbitration, Gil is pitching in LIDOM while New York considers trading him or transitioning him full-time to a bullpen role.
