Ben Hutton Signs One-Year Contract With New York Islanders

Defenseman Ben Hutton signed a one-year, prorated $900,000 contract with the New York Islanders following a brief professional tryout. The 33-year-old veteran left-shot defender provides necessary blue-line depth for an injury-plagued corps missing Ryan Pulock and Alexander Romanov. Hutton was previously released from a tryout with Ottawa on Sept. 29 after posting career highs with six goals and 15 points with Vegas last season.
