Logan Stankoven Opens Scoring In Hurricanes' 5-3 Victory Over Islanders

Carolina Hurricanes forward Logan Stankoven ignited the offense by scoring the game's opening goal in the first period of a 5-3 win against the New York Islanders. Stankoven took advantage of a New York miscue where opposing forwards over-skated a bouncing puck, sending a sharp wrist shot between goaltender Semyon Varlamov's pads. The early strike contributed to Carolina jumping out to a quick two-goal lead en route to their fourth victory in five games.
