New York Giants Cut Backup Quarterback Jake Haener

The New York Giants released backup quarterback Jake Haener on Thursday to open a roster spot. Haener initially joined the Giants late in the summer and served as the primary backup following injuries to Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston before reverting to the third-string role. The Giants plan to potentially sign him back to the practice squad while evaluating veterans.
