Akil Baddoo Pumped for New Opportunity After Pirates Claim Off Waivers

Akil Baddoo is eager to make an impact with the Pittsburgh Pirates after being claimed off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers. The 28-year-old outfielder bounced back from a left quad injury that limited him to 66 games in 2026, hitting .252 with 11 home runs, 11 doubles, three triples, and 47 RBIs for Triple-A Nashville. Baddoo, who logged 2.1 WAR as a rookie in 2021, aims to compete for outfield depth behind Oneil Cruz and Bryan Reynolds.
