Former First-Rounder Austin Hendrick Enters Minor League Free Agency
Former 2020 first-round draft pick Austin Hendrick has officially hit minor league free agency after the Cincinnati Reds declined to add him to their 40-man roster. Selected 12th overall, the outfielder struggled with high swing-and-miss rates over five minor league seasons in the organization. Hendrick reached Triple-A for the first time during the 2026 season, where he logged a .566 OPS over 58 games before the club elected to move on.
