Caleb Durbin Evaluated as Red Sox Third Base Solution for 2027

Gold Glove third baseman Caleb Durbin enters 2027 under contract through 2031 after a roller-coaster 2026 season for Boston. Despite horrific early-month numbers, Durbin rebounded with strong offensive stretches, highlighted by a scorching June batting .326 with 6 home runs. Producing back-to-back seasons with a 101 OPS+, he anchors the hot corner at a minimal salary value as the Red Sox weigh internal development against external free agent options ahead of the upcoming season.
