Edwin Uceta Undergoes Shoulder Surgery, Set to Miss Time in 2027

Tampa Bay Rays right-handed pitcher Edwin Uceta underwent arthroscopic shoulder surgery on his throwing shoulder, putting his status for the 2027 season in question. Uceta is expected to miss at least a portion of the upcoming campaign as he recovers from the procedure. During the 2026 season, the reliever pitched out of the bullpen for Tampa Bay. The club will evaluate his rehabilitation progress over the offseason before establishing a target return date.
