RJ Petit Returned to Tigers After Tommy John Surgery, Missed 2026 Season

Rule 5 pick RJ Petit has been returned to the Detroit Tigers after undergoing Tommy John surgery in spring training, which caused him to miss the entire 2026 season. Petit began throwing in August, but the injury and roster space needs led to his return to his original organization. He hopes to make his MLB debut at some point with the Tigers.
