The Chicago Cubs extended a one-year, $23.15 million qualifying offer to outfielder Seiya Suzuki. The 31-year-old is coming off his strongest campaign in North America, posting a career-high 5.1 WAR while slashing .270/.368/.473 with 26 home runs and 86 RBI across 143 games. Suzuki also posted improved defensive metrics. As one of the top free-agent bats available, he has until November 17 to accept or decline the tender.
