Orioles Decline Option on Ryan Mountcastle, Making Him Free Agent

The Orioles declined Ryan Mountcastle's 2027 contract option, making him a free agent after a tenure marked by 33 home runs in 2021 and early-season injuries in 2026. Analysts suggest left-field wall changes at Camden Yards may have cost him home runs, and the team's signing of Pete Alonso last offseason signaled the end of his time in Baltimore.
