Evan Carter Undergoes Hip Surgery, Will Miss Start of 2027 Season

Texas Rangers center fielder Evan Carter underwent surgery to repair his right hip labrum and address impingement, ruling him out for Opening Day. While expected to return for a significant portion of the 2027 season, Carter will begin on the injured list. The AL Gold Glove finalist posted a .194/.288/.315 slash line with nine home runs and 17 stolen bases across 141 games in 2026. His absence forces Texas to prioritize center field depth this offseason.
