Juan Lagares Highlighted as Mets' Previous Gold Glove Winner

Former New York Mets center fielder Juan Lagares was referenced following rookie pitcher Nolan McLean's 2026 Gold Glove Award victory. Lagares was the last Mets player to win a Gold Glove Award, capturing the honor in center field back in 2014. McLean's award ended a 12-year franchise drought for the Mets that had stood since Lagares's defensive honors, as well as a pitcher drought extending back to Ron Darling in 1989.
