Rece Hinds Re-Signs Unique Deal With Baltimore Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles re-signed outfielder Rece Hinds to a contract paying $4,700 above the negotiated major league minimum. The specific structure aims to make him less likely to be claimed if designated for assignment as the team clears space on the 40-man roster. Hinds appeared in 12 games for Baltimore this past season, where he struggled offensively and defensively. The move comes as the team prepares to reinstate players from the 60-day injured list.
