Garrett Hawkins Earns C+ Grade After Inconsistent 2026 Season

San Diego Padres prospect Garrett Hawkins posted a C+ grade for his 2026 performance after being added to the 40-man roster to avoid the Rule 5 draft. After a stellar 2025 transition to the bullpen (1.50 ERA, 80 Ks in 60 IP), Hawkins struggled with command in 2026, posting a 5.47 ERA and issuing 13 additional walks across 54.1 minor-league innings. Featuring a strong fastball mix, he remains a candidate to compete for a bullpen spot in 2027.
