Rays Exercise $20M Club Option on Righty Drew Rasmussen

The Tampa Bay Rays exercised Drew Rasmussen's $20 million club option for the 2027 season on Saturday. Performance escalators bumped the option's value from $8 million to $20 million after the 31-year-old right-hander made 30 regular-season starts and spent under 45 days on the injured list in 2026. Rasmussen posted a stellar 2.67 ERA and 0.91 WHIP over 172 regular-season innings, then allowed just seven runs in 28.2 postseason frames to help lead Tampa Bay to an American League pennant.
