Daron Payne Suffers Season-Ending Foot Injury in Commanders Practice

Washington Commanders defensive tackle Daron Payne suffered a season-ending Jones fracture in his foot during Friday's practice, ruling him out for the remainder of the 2026 campaign and halting potential trade rumors. Payne, Washington's longest-tenured player after being selected 13th overall in 2018, finishes his ninth season with 14 tackles, two tackles for loss, five quarterback hits, and one sack across seven games prior to the injury.
