Philip Rivers Emerges as Top Focus for NC State Coaching Vacancy

Former NFL quarterback Philip Rivers has emerged as the primary focus of NC State's head-coaching search following the firing of Dave Doeren. There is currently no timetable for the hire as Rivers continues coaching high-school football in Alabama. Rivers, who starred for the Wolfpack from 2000 to 2003, also interviewed for the Bills' head-coaching job earlier this year and had a brief NFL return with the Colts last season after retiring following a standout career with the Chargers.
