Anterio Thompson Reveals Career-Ending Spinal Mutation

Atlanta Falcons rookie defensive tackle Anterio Thompson revealed he was diagnosed with a career-ending genetic mutation in his spinal cord. Selected in the sixth round of the 2026 draft out of Washington, Thompson learned of the condition shortly after the draft and was placed on the non-football injury list in July. While remaining on Atlanta's reserve list, Thompson acknowledged his football career has ended.
