Brent Burns Paired with Sam Malinski Amid Avalanche Blue Line Shakeup

Colorado Avalanche defenseman Brent Burns was paired with young blue-liner Sam Malinski during Wednesday's 5-2 victory against the New Jersey Devils. Head coach Jared Bednar initiated the move hoping Burns' vocal communication and veteran presence would help unlock Malinski's game. While the new pairing showed encouraging chemistry, an eight-week ankle injury to Josh Manson may force further adjustments to Colorado's defensive unit.
