Athletics Decline 2027 Option on Left-Handed Pitcher Jeffrey Springs

The Athletics have declined their $15 million-plus club option on left-handed starter Jeffrey Springs for the 2027 season, making him an unrestricted free agent. Despite leading the team with 29 starts and 142.2 innings pitched in 2026, Springs struggled with home runs, surrendering 35 home runs overall—including 23 at Sutter Health Park. The 33-year-old veteran will now enter free agency for the first time in his career.
