Trea Turner Aims for 2027 Rebound Under New Phillies Hitting Coach

Trea Turner will work with new Phillies hitting coach Pete Fatse following a difficult 2026 campaign. After winning the NL batting title in 2025, Turner struggled with a .242 batting average, a .675 OPS, and a career-high 34.6% chase rate while leading the majors in outs made. He also faces a potential position change from shortstop in 2027 under new infield coach Carlos Mendoza if his defensive play does not improve quickly.
