Xander Bogaerts Seeks Offensive Turnaround with Padres

Shortstop Xander Bogaerts aims to build on a strong September (.315 BA, .479 SLG) and postseason (.286/.348/.476) following his worst offensive season in 2026, where he hit just .138 against offspeed pitches. Despite offensive struggles, Bogaerts maintained strong defense with 3+ Outs Above Average. Entering his age-34 season on an 11-year, $280 million deal, San Diego may eventually evaluate a move to first base.
