Corbin Burnes Will Not Opt Out of Contract with Arizona Diamondbacks

Corbin Burnes will not opt out of his contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks, securing his guaranteed $35 million per year through 2030. Burnes is recovering from Tommy John surgery after suffering a torn UCL during the 2025 season. He pitched just 10.1 innings over three starts in 2026, making his decision to decline the opt-out a logical choice given his injury recovery.
