Philadelphia 76ers Apply for Disabled Player Exception for Ariel Hukporti

The Philadelphia 76ers have applied for a $1.7 million Disabled Player Exception following backup big man Ariel Hukporti's torn Achilles tendon suffered in the preseason opener. While currently stuck near their first-apron hard cap, the DPE could provide the Sixers with crucial financial flexibility by December or the trade deadline to sign a veteran minimum contributor or big man to bolster their frontcourt depth for the rest of the season.
