Fernando Mendoza To Wait For First Career Start With Raiders

Las Vegas Raiders top overall draft pick Fernando Mendoza will not make his first career NFL start in Week 8 against the New York Jets. Head coach Klint Kubiak announced that veteran Kirk Cousins will stay under center, though he noted Mendoza will get his opportunity to play at some point later this season. The Raiders are opting for patience with their rookie signal-caller despite riding a four-game losing streak.
