Liam Hicks Benched for Game 3 Following Elbow Hit in World Series

Tampa Bay Rays catcher Liam Hicks was replaced by Nick Fortes in the starting lineup for Game 3 of the World Series against Brewers lefty Robert Gasser. Hicks, who had started all but one playoff game for Tampa Bay, hit a two-run homer in Game 2 before being struck on the right elbow by a pitch in the sixth inning and subsequently removed. Fortes takes over behind the plate as Tampa Bay attempts to narrow a 2-0 deficit.
