Alexander Nikishin Needs Mini Training Camp Before Hurricanes Debut
Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Alexander Nikishin will have his 2026-27 season debut delayed as head coach Rod Brind'Amour indicated he needs a "mini training camp" to get up to speed. Nikishin recently signed a one-year, $3 million contract with Carolina after recording 11 goals, 33 points, 132 hits, and 94 blocked shots in 81 games last season. It remains unclear when the 25-year-old blueliner will officially join the active roster.
