Simon Edvinsson Contract Deadline Approaches With Red Wings Unsigned

Detroit Red Wings restricted free agent defenseman Simon Edvinsson faces a Dec. 1 deadline to sign a contract, or he will be ineligible to play for the remainder of the 2026-27 season. Despite attending training camp, Edvinsson returned to Sweden once the preseason began. Although he recently met in person with interim GM Shawn Horcoff in North America, no deal has been finalized, leaving Detroit disappointed as negotiations remain stalled for their second-most important blueliner.
