Otega Oweh Waived by Thunder Following Devastating Achilles Rupture

The Oklahoma City Thunder have waived rookie guard Otega Oweh after he suffered a ruptured Achilles just before the start of the regular season. Selected 41st overall in the 2026 NBA Draft out of Kentucky, Oweh showed promising flashes during the preseason before sustaining the season-ending injury. Despite his high potential, the title-contending Thunder made the difficult decision to clear roster space.
