Jack Thompson Placed on Waivers by Vancouver Canucks

The Vancouver Canucks placed defenseman Jack Thompson on waivers with the intent to reassign him to the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks. The 24-year-old missed training camp and the start of the 2026-27 season due to an injury but is now healthy. Thompson was originally acquired by the San Jose Sharks in 2024, posting 10 points in 33 NHL games and 35 points in 85 AHL games before being traded to Vancouver for Jett Woo. He will report to Abbotsford if he clears waivers.
